English Heritage have made some very strong representations about the protection needed for Great House Farm. The ball is back in Berkeley`s court as they decide how they can try and accommodate these objections. It seems likely that a third version of the plan will have to be created and considered!

What I think is certain, is that Berkeleys will not give up. They have too much money invested in this and they know, I think, that Strategic Planning at HDC remain very keen to get the elected Members to accept it if they possibly can. One sometimes gets the impression that it is Strategic Planning`s own application not Berkeleys so enthusiastically do they argue it.

Be that as it may, we are continuing to beaver away – at the moment rather behind the scenes – to make it harder than ever for them to justify acceptance. No one thing is a show stopper but it is getting harder and harder for them.

We will try and let everyone know when the next part of the battle starts. Certainly we can and will update this website when we have news so keep an eye on it.
